Three of Valencia CF's international players represented their respective countries on Monday night, with Dani Parejo and Rodrigo turning out for Spain and Daniel Wass returning to the Danish national side.
Parejo and Rodrigo both started for 'La Roja' in a 3-0 win over Sweden in the UEFA 2020 qualifiers, keeping up a perfect record for Luis Enrique's men after four fixtures in Group F.
The VCF captain was particularly impressive as he ran the show in midfield, and was only denied a goal by a fantastic save from Swedish goalkeeper Olsen when he volleyed on target 14 minutes in.
Rodrigo played as a number 9 and on the wing for Spain in the contest, but was given little space by the defensive Scandinavian opposition. He would have a goal disallowed for offside when played through by Parejo, and be substituted in the second half of a game that Spain would go on to win, with Sergio Ramos opening the scoring from the penalty spot and Álvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal contributing further goals.
Wass ran out for Denmark for the first time since November of 2016 in their 5-1 victory over Georgia at home, coming on in place of Skov on 62 minutes. He set up Martin Braithwaite as part of a flood of goals that arrived in the second half.
